About Us
Memphis Athletic Boosters was created in 1983. Prior to 1983, the Athletic Boosters operated under the title of Memphis Parents’ Club. We are a volunteer organization open to all adult members of the Memphis Community Schools District. Membership is not limited to the parents of past, current, or future athletes.
The purpose of the Athletic Boosters is to provide support to the athletic programs of Memphis Community Schools. This support can include, but is not limited to, the purchase of uniforms and equipment, subsidizing coaching fees and/or program fees, and assisting with other costs incurred by the athletics programs that cannot be met by the school district’s athletic budget. In cases of extreme emergency, Athletic Boosters may agree to underwrite an entire program or programs. However, this is to be considered only on a temporary basis when the school district cannot support the program. Decisions made by the Athletic Boosters to provide support for any specific request does not imply or require that the same support be given on an annual basis or to all athletic programs. Decisions are made based on many factors, especially program need and the ability of Athletic Boosters to provide the support. We also publish an athletic program during the fall, winter, and spring season, highlighting the teams that compete during those seasons.
